The Shaffer
Hotel, widely recognized for its
striking Pueblo Deco (Southwest Art Deco) and original Folk Art
décor,
was built in 1923 by Clem “Pop” Shaffer, who
moved to
Mountainair in 1908. The landmark Hotel has recently been remodeled,
preserving its traditional
charm and historical importance while combining contemporary
accommodations with old fashioned
elegance.

The Shaffer Hotel can accommodate you. The hotel features 19 rooms, from
simple “cowboy rooms” to double suits for families and an elegant
wedding suite. All rooms are
furnished with antique furniture from its time. Amenities include
complimentary Continental breakfast, full service
restaurant, 80 seat convention room, game room with pool tables, and a
large, inviting outdoor park - picture book green & tall tree
shaded - with stone fire-pit for convivial evening campfires, an Art
Deco Gazebo,
and a covered patio for outdoor dining or just hanging out.
